Born Huntington Co., Quebec, Canada on May 14, 1842. In Decorah, Iowa, November 1, 1863 he married Miss Myra E. Cook. December 1871 he moved to Lainsboro, Minn. and to Washington County 1889, thence to Hillyard, Wash. June 1907.
Survived by widow and two children: Mrs. W. T. Glaze of Hillyard, Wash. and Leslie C. Greer of Spokane; two sisters, Mrs. June Hare and Mrs. Belle Martin, Clear Lake, Iowa and brother, R. H. Greer, Hillsboro.

J. C. Greer of Spokane. Former resident of Forest Grove and for many years was in the grocery business here in the stand now occupied by C. R. Callaway. He left here some six years ago and went to Hillsboro where he engaged in the shoe business. From there to Spokane. At one time was city treasurer.
Remains were brought here Sunday evening and funeral from the Methodist Church under the auspices of Odd Fellows. He was a member 40 years. Rev. Belknap officiating.
He leaves besides his wife, two children: Mrs. Tersa Glaise and son, Lesllie M.
