Nancy Claire Johnson Centro, 69, of Iowa City, Iowa, formerly of Rexburg, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in Idaho Falls of pneumonia. She was born August 20, 1934, at Archer to Carl John and Geraldine Blackburn Johnson. She attended Rexburg schools and married her high school English teacher in October 1950. They had four children before he died in 1967. She spent two years in Taiwan and loved to travel. In 1977, she married jazz accordionist Victor Centro and they spent 26 happy years in Carson City, Nev. She loved to express her creativity through ceramics, beadwork, and needlework and enjoyed giving her art to family and friends. We will miss her adventurous spirit, infectious laughter, and bold heart. She is survived by her husband, Victor of Iowa City; children, Charlotte Wright, also of Iowa City, Jan Wright of Ashland, Oregon, Great Wright of Bakersfield, California, Paul Wright of Rexburg, Cathy Centro and Nancy McDowall, both of Canada; brothers, Gerald Johnson of Rexburg, Rees Johnson of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Joy Johnson of St. Anthony; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Glen and David Johnson; sisters, Ruth Johnson and Lucille Ricks, and granddaughter, Kally Mae Wright.
