PULASKI – Charles Ellis Rorrer, Jr. beat his fight with cancer and walked into the arms of Jesus on Oct. 25, 2004. Charlie or Jr as known to many was a loving and caring dad, husband and a friend to all who knew him. Charlie would help anyone anytime. He would give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it and he is going to be greatly missed. In his lifetime, he was a jack of all trades from working on vehicles, construction, and carrier for the Roanoke Times, he was famous for his home made pies.

Born on April 22, 1947 in Pulaski County Charlie became the youngest of 20 children. Preceding Charlie in death were: dad, Charles Ellis Rorrer, Sr., mom, Martha Elizebeth Shockley Rorrer, grandson, Charles Zachary Allen Cowan, brothers, Ray, Rosco, Troy, Rodney, Daniel, Tommy, sisters, Anna Mae, Agnes, Doranna.

Left to cherish his precious memory are: his wife of 17 years, Eveleen Rorrer; children and spouses, Tina and Keven Bryd, Tonia Rorrer, Hope Rorrer and John Cox, Hollie and Scott Hayden, Ryan and Amber Rorrer, Michael Altizer; grandchildren, Christopher Bryd, Courtney Bryd, Summer Rorrer, Dustin Covey, Tesla Cowan, Catlin Rorrer, Devin Cowan, Ivy Hayden, Adam Wyatt; brothers and spouses, James and Wanda Rorrer, Bob and Elise Rorrer; sisters and spouses, Julie Rorrer, Gladys and Jr Parks, Edith Starner, HazelVaughn; sister in law, Thelma Rorrer; special nephew and wife, Tim and Angie Rorrer; adopted granddaughter, Katie Rorrer.

Five years ago Charlie found Jesus as his blessed Savior and became a member of the Newbern Church of God and wishes to see all of his family in Heaven someday with him.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clayton Quesenberry officiating. Burial will be in the Rorrer Cemetery on Robinson Tract Road, Pulaski. Visitation Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m. Family will meet at the home located at 3511 Case Knife Road, Pulaski.
