Son of Robert and Martha Washburn Blackburn. His family had lived in Rockingham Co., and Guilford Co. at one time. He had lived in Stokes Co.(Beaver Island Twp.) with wife Anne Elizabeth (Bettie) Smith Blackburn, and their children in the 1870 census. He was the father of Frederick Bonaparte (Boney); Robert T.; Loula C.; Cora Agatha; Ida Alice Blackburn Smith, and John Frank Blackburn. (Note: He is shown with his parents, Robert--45, and Martha--31, in the 1850 census for Guilford Co. NC. Children shown were John C.--12; Joseph D.--12; Robert M.--10; Daniel L.--5; William J.--4; James--3; and Thomas G.--4 months old. It also states that he was born in Rockingham Co. NC.)
