(Note: Her full name was Anne Elizabeth (Bettie) Smith Blackburn Crews.)

87 years of age. Daughter of Frederick J. and Nancy Crews Smith. (Frederick was a son of John G. Smith and Paulina Salmon, and a brother to Minerva G. Smith McMillan). Bettie was married twice----first to John Clifton Blackburn, who died in 1876, and is buried at Salem Chapel United Church of Christ cemetary near Walnut Cove/Walkertown. Known children she had with John are Robert T., Frederick Bonaparte, Loula C., Ida Alice B. Smith, and Cora Agatha Blackburn. She was very briefly married to Joseph Peace Crews II in 1899. (Hence the last name of Crews). Joseph is buried with his first wife, Phoebe Hester, with whom he lived for many years, at Crews Methodist Church cemetary, also near Walkertown. Bettie's death certificate indicates that she lived in Colfax, NC at the time of her death.
