The Oklahoman, Tuesday, Apr 27, 1999: Alton R. Bogle, journeyed to a better place Saturday, April 24, 1999. He was born May 1, 1921 in Cordell, OK, to Ulla and Josie (Neely) Bogle. Alton graduated from Clinton High School, attended Southwestern State University at Weatherford, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy in Norman. He pursued a lifelong career in law enforcement. First as a Lieutenant in the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, then as Parole Officer with the OK Dept of Corrections, and finally retiring as a US Marshall. During this time, he and his family lived many places in the state of Oklahoma. Alton was also a member of First Baptist Church, Miami, OK.

He was predeceased in death by his parents; a sister, Lorrine Chechousky; and a brother, Gordon. Alton is survived by his wife of 48 years, Oleta B. Reynolds Bogle of the home; his daughter, Diane and her husband John E. Harden; granddaughter, Amy and her husband Bobby A. Brown; 2 great granddaughters, Brandy and Ashley Brown, all of OKC; three brothers, Marness and wife Ruth, Adalee and K. D. Bogle, all of Clinton; and many nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be made to Alzheimer's Treatment & Research Center, c/o Hahn-Cook, Street & Draper with interment to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
