Alton graduated from Clinton High School, attended Southwestern State University at Weatherford, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy in Norman. He pursued a lifelong career in law enforcement. First as a Lieutenant in the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, then as Parole Officer with the OK Dept of Corrections, and finally retiring as a US Marshall. During this time, he and his family lived many places in the state of Oklahoma. Alton was also a member of First Baptist Church, Miami, OK.
He was predeceased in death by his parents; a sister, Lorrine Chechousky; and a brother, Gordon. Alton is survived by his wife of 48 years, Oleta B. Reynolds Bogle of the home; his daughter, Diane and her husband John E. Harden; granddaughter, Amy and her husband Bobby A. Brown; 2 great granddaughters, Brandy and Ashley Brown, all of OKC; three brothers, Marness and wife Ruth, Adalee and K. D. Bogle, all of Clinton; and many nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be made to Alzheimer's Treatment & Research Center, c/o Hahn-Cook, Street & Draper with interment to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
