Bob married Norma Rowina Karnopp (1896-1972) in March of 1918, and the couple would have two sons: Robert R. Stafford, Jr. (1924-1997), and Howard Moore Stafford (1926-1979).
After the death of Norma, Bob married (2nd) Eleanor, "Ellie" Tuttle, who also proceeded him in death some years later.
Bob was the president and CEO of the Robert O. Law book manufacturing company in Chicago, Illinois which manufactured text books. At one time, this company was one of the largest book manufacturing businesses in the country.
Later in life, he retired to West Palm Beach, Florida., spending his remaining years in that state.
Bob died in Mayport, Florida in 1992, two months shy of his one hundred and first birthday.
