Elton Richey, 94, died Feb. 22, 1991, in an Ashton nursing home. / He was born May 8, 1896, Marysvale, to John Solomon and Martha Catherine Fredrick Ferris. He was adopted by Robert Alma and Adeline Webb Richey following the death of his mother when he was three and one-half months old. / He attended school in Monroe, and graduated from South Sevier High School. / He served in Europe during World War I. / He married Margie Bodil Thueson, Oct. 2, 1919, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. / He was a farmer in Monroe, and later moved to Sugar City, Ida. In 1933, they moved to Ashton. / In 1958, they moved to Salt Lake City, where they resided until the death of Mrs. Richey in 1980. He has since lived in Ashton. / Survivors: sons daughter, Darrell, Richfield; Reid and Grant, both Ashton; Wayne, Salem, Ida.; Mrs. Herman (Fae) Nichols, Salt Lake City; 39 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild. / Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 25, in the Ashton LDS Stake Center with interment in the Ashton Pineview Cemetery by Wade Funeral Home, Ashton.
