Elizabeth, usually called "Lizzie" or "Eliza", was born 1 November 1801, daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth CONNOR Chiles. She married first, about 1818, Capt. William Perrin Sullivan(t), by whom she had two children: William Perrin Sullivan(t), Jr., and Benjamin Sullivan(t). Her first husband died about 1822-23 (Estate adm. 24 February 1823).

Elizabeth married second, on 3 November 1836, Maj. John Chiles, also widowed. By John she had five children: John Calhoun Chiles, Thomas White Chiles, M.D., Samuel Connor Chiles, Benjamin Chiles, and Sarah Elizabeth Chiles (m. Wade E. Cothran). She was widowed for the second time when John Chiles died 4 July 1846. He is buried in the Chiles Family Cemetery.

She was baptised into the Baptist faith in 1823, and was a faithful member of Bethany and Horeb Baptist churches.
