Roma Boatman was born March 6, 1929 in Miller County, Missouri to Walter Edward and Ova Harrison Brown. She died August 4, 2008 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was married in Harrison, Arkansas to Jess Boatman on October 14, 1950.

Roma was a member of the First Christian Church of Eldon, Missouri. She was head cook for thirty-seven years at the Eldon Schools before her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother George Brown.

Survivors include a son, Paul Boatman, one step son, Wayne Boatman, a step-daughter, Bonnie Braundy, two sisters, Alice Tannehill and Ellen McCubbins, ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on June 5, 2004, and one brother, George Brown.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 6, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 7 at the First Christian Church. Interment will be at Gott Cemetery.
