John Vincent Scott died in 88th year at home near Clintonville June 15th following a brief illness due to uremic poisoning. Born Scrubgrass township September 6, 1828, eldest son of Alexander and Mary Vincent scott. Twice married, first wife, Mary Jane Gibson, died March 24, 1867. Five children: George M., Wesley A., Ella E. (Parker), William G. and Mary C., the first-named alone surviving. Later married to Catherine Kellerman to whom were born Della J. (Parker) of Butler and Martha A. (Vogus) of Clintonville. Widow and three children survive and two sisters: Mrs. Sadie Boyles of Oklahoma and Mrs. Phoebe Atwell of Lisbon, Pa., twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren... Sixty-seven years had been member of East Unity United Presbyteian church from place which interment was made June 17, conducted by pastor Rev. E.A. Campblell.
