Shirley L. Stutz, nee Bowles, 69, passed away May 25, 2001 in her Northbrook home of 33 years, beloved wife of the late Richard (1991); and loving daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Lewis Bowles; Shirley was the devoted mother of George (Mary Louise), Cynthia (Gregory) Elliott, Robert (Stacy) and Mary Sharon (Michael) Kastler; proud and adoring grandmother of Adam and Elizabeth; dear sister of Louis (Jean) Bowles and Sharon (Clyde) Cameron; fond aunt of Steven and Gordon Bowles, Gregory (Joyce) and Wesley (Linda) Axlen and Claudia (David) Strang; and dearest friend of Eugene Vitale, David and Elaine Booth. Shirley possessed great inner strength and was renowned for her community service, keen wit and wonderful sense-of-humor. She was a woman of faith to whom home, family and friends meant everything. Memorial services and interment to be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at St. Giles' Episcopal Church, 3025 Walters Avenue, Northbrook, 847-272-6622, Rev. James L. Risk presiding.
