Major League Baseball Player. Born in Pennsboro, West Virginia, he was a right handed pitcher making his debut for the Detroit Tigers on April 21, 1939. For three seasons he played with Detroit Tigers (1939-41) and then served in the US military during World War II. After the war, he returned to baseball but never made it out of the minor leagues and retired in 1948. He finished his career with a record of 3 wins, 1 loss, 2 complete games, 1 shutout 30 strikeouts and a 3.99 earned run average. He died at age 94 in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
