Ann did not die in 1840 - probate records show she was alive on 13 Dec 1841 when she signed a codicil to her will and then on 25 Dec 1841 based on a copy of medical bill for that date. Her son-in-law, James W. Allen was appointed Executor of her will on 17 Jan 1842. Ann died between 25 Dec 1841 and 16 Jan 1842.
