Ruth Alexander, 104, our amazing Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt of Madison went home to Jesus, Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She still had a clear mind and kind heart.
She was born December 17, 1909 in Reed Springs, Missouri, the daughter of William Wallace and Mary Green (Williams) Abbey.
Ruth was joined in marriage to Edward (Ned) Arthur Alexander in 1929. To this union were born three daughters, Rowena Taylor of Burns, Kansas, Bethene Lord and Aletta Dean, both of Madison; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm.
Ruth was a member of the Central Christian Church in Madison.
She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM., Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Sauder Center in Madison. Burial will follow service at the Blakley Cemetery, north of Madison. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Central Christian Church or Angels Home Healthcare and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Home, PO Box 488, Madison, KS 66860.
