Herman Steinford was born in Spades Ind.October 10,1869.He came with his parents to Kansas in 1886 where he spent his early manhood.When 30 years old,he left for Colorado and lived in various parts of United States and Canada.In 1921 he returned to Alida,Geary County.to make his home with his parents.In 1944 he and a sister,Laura moved to Junction City,where he resided till death.Herman was baptized and confirmed in the Luthern Evangelcial Church in Spades,Ind whwn 14 years old.Later he became a member of the St.John's Evangelcial and Reformed Church of Alida,KS.Then transfered his membership to the Zion Evangelcial and Reformed Church in Junction City.
April 14,1947, Mr.Steinford passed away at the Halstead,KS.Hospitalat the age of 77 years,6 months and 4 days.
