Mr. Ted Gordon Barker, 90, of Las Animas died on Friday, April 13th, 2012 at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta,CO.

Ted was born in Springfield, CO. on June 25, 1921, the son of the late George Edwin "Ted" and Aubyn Ann (Cook) Barker.

He graduated from Las Animas High School.

He was the husband of Alma Ruth (Watkins) Barker they were married on August 17, 1941 in Canon City, CO.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a Sgt in WW II.

He was a self-employed Rancher in Baca County.

He was a lifetime member ELKS Lodge #1147 in Rocky Ford, CO.

He is survived by his wife, Alma of the home; Daughter Renee Paulette McFarlane of Las Animas, CO.; Son Perry husband of Sue Barker of Honolulu, HI. He is also survived by Grandchildren: 7, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son: Norman Barker; grandchild: Rusty Barker and a sister: Wanda Embrey.

Graveside Services will be at the Maxey Cemetery, Baca County, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 19th, 2012.There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Maxey Cemetery, CO. Memorials may be made to American Red Cross. For driving instructions to the cemetery go to Google Maps and type in Maxey Cemetery. To send flowers please have them delivered to Rich Funeral Home in Springfield, CO.
