R H Cain Meets Death On Yards

Seaboard's Assistant Night Yardmaster Killed When Caught Between Cars.

Caught between two freight cars, R. H. Cain, assistant yardmaster of the Seaboard Air Line in this City, was last night almost instantly killed on the Johnson Street yards of the railroad. His body was terribly mangled.

It was while attending to his duties on the yards during the usual make-up of trains that the yard master lost his life. Whether or not there were any witnesses to the accident, was not learned last night. According to reports, however, Cain was either coupling or uncoupling two cars when the shifting engine backed suddenly and swiftly against the string of cars.

Coroner Arch J. Wood was called to the scene for an investigation. After viewing the body, he deemed an investigation unnecessary.

Mr. Cain was a well known railroad man of this city and he had been with the seaboard for about two years. He was formerly employed by the Norfolk Southern in this city.
