Arthur H. Galbraith was born July 25, 1878 (WW I Draft Record entry) although his cemetery headstone reads July 28, 1878 in Bartholomew Co., IN He was a farmer in the Hope vicinity near the county line of Bartholomew and Decatur Cos., IN and married Mary Neva Gilmour Oct 13, 1903 in Decatur Co.

Following their marriage, the couple moved to a farm in Clay Township of Decatur Co., IN where Art farmed until his death. Art and Neva parented two sons, Joseph Clarence and Carl Harold, plus a daughter, Lilly Laverne.

For nine years Art served as Clay Township assessor. He was a member of the Burney Baptist Church.

Note by Dana:

According to Ancestry.com, the transcription of the WWI Draft record shows July 28, 1878 but the actual image looks like it could read July 25th as well. Given his headstone reads July 28th 1878, I have chosen to leave that date listed for now.
