Mrs. Lulu Lyon Pheteplace, a member of a prominent Brooklyn family, and a granddaughter of the late Rev. Henry Lyon, the first pastor of All Souls Universalist Church, died yesterday at her home in Rochester, N.Y. Although she had been in poor health for some time, her death was sudden and will come as a shock to her many friends in this boro.
Mrs. Pheteplace was the daughter of Clarence Lyon, who for 35 years was the secretary of All Souls Church. She was active in the work of the church prior to her marriage to Walter D. Pheteplace and was a member of the Knickerbocker Club. She was a graduate of St. Lawrence University and belonged to its Alumnae Association. She continued her church activities in Rochester and was a member of the First Universalist Church there. She was president of its Ladies Aid Society and taught in the Sunday School.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Eleanor and Miriam; a son, Willard; her father and a brother, Frank F. Lyon. The funeral services will be held in Rochester.
