Mrs. Ralph Viets passed away at Sacred Heart hospital in Eau Claire on Saturday evening, March 20, after submitting to an operation for gall stones on Thursday. Emma Bellezina Kulbeck was born Nov. 4, 1880, in the town of New Auburn, Chippewa county, attending school later at Colfax and on August 6, 1904, was united in marriage to Ralph Viets. Those surviving her are her husband and two daughters, Vivian, at home; Zelda (Mrs. Percy Pickett, Jr) who is at home since her husband has joined the service. Byron Viets, Denver, Colo.; Coporal Wayne Viets, who is stationed somewhere in England and Nellie Viets, Savannah, Ga., and three grandchildren, Lucien Grimsrud and Wayne and Sybil Pickett, all of Colfax; one brother, Edwin Kulbeck, Havre Mont.; and four sisters: Alba, (Mrs. Dave Stroupe), Louise (Mrs. Martin Bakke), Big Sandy, Mont.; Carolyn (Mrs. Ray Golden), Hazel (Mrs. Oscar Sundby), New Auburn, Wis. Mrs. Veits was an active member of the Methodist church, of the Woman's club, and also the War Mother's club.
