Elbert A Belknap, 80, died at a local hospital. He was a retired railroad worker, having served for many years as a station agent on the Sumpter Valley railroad in Oregon. He resided in Sparks for the last three years.
He was a native of Belfoun, Oregon, in an area where many towns took their name from the pioneer Belknap family. Belfoun is no longer in existence.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Willia Belknap; a son, Loren C. Belknap and two granddaughters, Karene and Marion Belknap, all of Sparks.
Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.
