William E. Hollar, who had farmed in the Reading community for many years before his retirement, died Monday morning in the home of his son, Edwin L. Hollar, Albuquerque, N.M.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, conducted by the Rev. W. H. Winters, pastor of the Reading Methodist Church. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
The son of William and Lucinda Bruton Hollar, William E. Hollar was born Aug. 23rd, 1898, in Henderson, Mo., and he was married to Ruth A. Richard Aug. 21st, 1918, in Emporia. He is survived by his wife; four sons, William R., of San Bernardino, Calif.; Robert W., of Osage City; Horace L., of 301 South Sylvan St., and Edwin, of Albuquerque; one daughter, Mrs. Dale Bathurst, Talmadge; one brother, T. R. Hollar, Yates Center; four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Smith, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Lawrence Harris, Council Grove; Mrs. Vernon Hoch, Rt. 1, and Mrs. Harry Smith, San Francisco, Calif., 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
