Second Lieutenant Airington was living in Atoka Co., OK when he enlisted on Sept. 23, 1951.

He was a member of the 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division and was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy on "Old Baldy" near Chorwon, North Korea on September 18, 1952.

He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
