Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for Adeline M. Opatz, 101, who died Monday at Country Manor Health Care Center in Sartell.
Rev. Eugene Doyle will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids. Sacred Heart Christian Mothers (St. Monica's Society) will pray at 6:30 p.m., followed by parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.
Adeline was born December 15, 1900, in Two Rivers Township (Morrison County) to Stephan & Elizabeth (Trutwin) Sobiech. She married Simon "Sam" Opatz on Sept. 18, 1923, in North Prairie. They moved to Foley shortly after their marriage, and later moved to Sauk Rapids in 1925. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a charter member of Sacred Heart Christian Mothers (St. Monica's Society).
Survivors include her sons, daughters, and spouses, Ralph Opatz of St. Cloud, James (Mary Lou) Opatz of Sartell, Don (Margie) Opatz of Vadnais Heights, Gerald (Peggy) Opatz of Bloomington, Eileen (Gerald) Berger of White Bear Lake, Jane (Jake) Lynch of Bloomington; sisters and brother, Ann Feltl of Hopkins, Jean Feltl of Hopkins, Marcella Petron of Sartell, Al Sobiech of North Prairie, and Delphine Smieja of Little Falls; 38 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam on Nov. 11, 1974; daughter in law, Patricia Opatz; sisters and brother, Agnes Krych, John Sobiech, and Lucy Petron.
