Vina Marklund met her future husband, Kermit, at her sister's wedding to Kermit's cousin. The couple was married on 08 June, 1946. They made their home on the Lakeview Farm near Mud Lake where they raised their two sons: Vincent and Larry. Larry predeceased his parents. Vina was a Certified Nurses Assistant at the Rosholt Care Center where she was the first nursing assistant to be certified. She enjoyed her job at the care center. Vina is survived by her son, Vincent, daughter-in-law, Myla, grandchildren: Camille and Keith and their spouses and three great grandchildren.
