ARCADIA, LA.-Funeral services celebrating the life of M.L. Kilpatrick, Jr., 82, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at first Baptist Church of Arcadia. Officiating will be Rev. Ben Pitts and Rev. Jeff Hoffman. Interment will follow in Arcadia, LA. The family will receive visitors, Tuesday, April 10, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Arcadia Funeral Home.

M.L. Kilpatrick was born September 22, 1929 in Arcadia, LA to the late Milton L. and Lucy Pebworth Kilpatrick, Sr. and passed away April 6, 2012 in Minden, LA.

M.L. was a member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He received his Masters Degree in Music from Louisiana Tech University. Mr. Kilpatrick was a High School Band director for over 45 years, where he taught at various high schools in Louisiana and Texas, such as, Logansport, Ringgold, Many, Denham Springs, Aracadia, Waskom, Tallulah Academy and Claiborne Academy. He also loved to hunt, fish and golf.

Preceding M.L. in death are his son, James M. Kilpatrick; sister Virginia Cawthon and son-in-law, Scott Parnell. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Delene Kilpatrick; son, John Kilpatrick; daughter, Amy Kilpatrick Payne and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Elisha Coates and husband Brad. Johnny Kilpatrick and wife Mary Lynn, Mary Delene Webb and husband Chad, Zach Parnell and wife Natalie, Hollie Kilpatrick and fiance Tony Clay, Jessica Payne; nine adorable great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Honoring M.L. as pallbearers will be his grandsons.

His family, friends and a host of his band students, will dearly miss M.L.
