Philip Louis Gervais, 85, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Gervais was born in Dryburg, Michigan to the late Raoul and Marieanne Gervais. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include his children, Karen A. Hill and husband, Kenneth, of Fredericksburg, and their children, Melissa, Chris, Harold and David; James Gervais and wife, Michelle, of Villa Rica, Georgia, and their children, Philip Michael, Amanda and Britney; David Gervais and his wife, Peggy, of Cheboygan, Michigan, and their children, Wesley, Elliot, Heather, Amber and Corey; Daniel Gervais of Boston, Massachusetts, and John Gervais and his wife, Ivonete Markman, of Carmel, Indiana; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 10 brothers and sisters, Marie Bourque, Roger Gervais, Martha Gervais Autore, Patrick Gervais, Lucienne Gervais Beacom, Marcel Gervais, Ronald Gervais, Beatrice Gervais, Delores Gervais James, and Frances Gervais Desrochers; and a very dear friend, Barbara Thompson.

Besides his parents, Mr. Gervais was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Gervais; and three brothers, Albert Gervais, Donald Gervais, and Roland Gervais.

A service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 16 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel with the Rev. Bill Korpi officiating. Inurnment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 15 at the funeral home with a rosary service at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Trudy Clifton, 113 Tallpines Avenue, Locust Grove, Virginia 22508.
