Marie Gervais was born in St. Ambroise, Quebec, Canada, on Feb. 22, 1915. Within a few months her family moved to Dryburg, Mich. She married Bill Bourque on April 10, 1940. They first lived in Sault Ste. Marie, then Escanaba before moving to Lansing in 1967. After her 10 children were mostly raised, she worked at Glass Pharmacy until her retirement in 1977.
She was survived by her children.
She was also survived by nine siblings, one sister-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Bill (1986), grandson Darren Kelly (1999) and son-in-law Vic Salmi (2001); brothers Donald, Albert, Roland, and Phillip; and many sisters- and brothers-in-law.
She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral Parish where she was seen at daily Mass and Rosary until shortly before her death. She will be remembered for her deep faith, devotion to Mary and love for God.
