Memorial service for Linden Carlyle Campbell, 87, will be at a later date at Fairmount Memorial Park. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Campbell, who died Feb. 15, was born in Earlton, Kan.

He graduated from Tonganoxie High School and attended Kansas University in Lawrence.

He moved to Spokane in 1945 and practiced engineering in Spokane and the Pacific Northwest for more than 40 years as a consulting civil and structural engineer. His practice extended from structural consultation with local architectural firms to complete design of grain elevators, seed plants, feed mills, fertilizer plants, and barge- and ship-loading terminals.

Mr. Campbell was active in the Structural Engineers Association of Washington, American Society of Civil Engineers, Associated Engineers, Lions Club, Pacific Northwest Grain and Feed Association, and the Grain Elevator and Processing Society.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Thelma Campbell.

Survivors include two daughters, Irene Bayne of Prosser and Colleen Kelly of Raleigh, N.C.; a son, Gary Campbell of Fairfield; a brother, Bruce Campbell of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Welma Hornbeck of Salt Lake City; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
