Sophia Freel & Jonathan Parkinson were married Feb 28, 1850, probably in Polk County, IA. She & Jonathan started for Oregon with the rest of the family, but Jonathan changed his mind and they went back to Cainesville, IA and then to Kansas instead. Sophia's parents, two sisters & three brothers all died on the Oregon Trail in Neb. of cholera within a 11 day period.
