George C. Crump, age 55 and a prominent citizen of this parish, died suddenly at his home three miles north east of Haynesville, While he had not been confined to bed, he had been complaining some the past several weeks. Coming in from town early Saturday evening, after having eaten supper at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. H. Arnold, who resides in town, he was stricken suddenly with a heart attack, and succumbed within a short while before a physician could be summoned. The deceased was a life long resident of this parish, and for a number of years had been a prosperous farmer of the community in which he lived. He was a fine citizen, always standing for the moral uplift of his community. Kind hearted and generous by nature he enjoyed a large circle of friends, and by whom his untimely death will be keenly felt. He was a devout member of the Christian Church, his Christian life was one worthy to be exemplified. He was preceded in death by his parents Mason Nance and Alice Faucett Crump. He is survived by his wife Nora W. Green Crump, Children, Erbie, Earl, Cutie, Myrtle, Ernest, Eugene, George, and Erman.
