Elloree - Felder James Shirer, 74, died Thursday in Orangeburg Regional Hospital. The funeral will be 5 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church n Elloree. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery at Lone Star, directed by Fogle-Hungerpiller Funeral Home. Mr. Shirer was born in Calhoun County, Dec. 23, 1897, a son of the late William Perry and Mrs. Susan Felder Shirer. He was a retired farmer and a member of Charity Lodge No. 62 AFM. Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Mable Mack Shirer of Elloree; three sons, James Howard Shirer, Keister M. Shirer and R. Vernon Shirer, all of Elloree; a daughter, Mrs. Robert J. Jenkins of Elloree; two brothers, Monroe Shirer Sr. and Jesse D. Shirer Sr., both of Lone Star; four sisters, Mrs. Edna Shirer of Lone Star, Mrs. W. B. Heate [Heape] of Fort Motte, Mrs. D. M. Vice and Mrs. George W. Zeigler, both of Lone Star; 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
