TIMMONSVILLE - Jacqueline "Jackie" Welch Langston, 82, died in a local hospital April 5, 2012 after an illness. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be today (Friday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, Florence.
Mrs. Langston was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late Foster and Ada Carroway Welch. She was a member of Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church. Mrs. Langston worked more than 20 years as the Cafeteria Manager for K-Mart of Florence. She was married to the late Joseph Franklin Langston.
Jackie is survived by two daughters, Judy L. (Paul) Jones and Janice Broach all of Timmonsville; a sister, Launa Odom, Florence; eight grandchildren, Donald (Marie) Anderson, Ben (Kimberly) Langston, Kelvin Anderson, Denise Browder, Jennifer (Bobby) Morris, Jacqueline (Quan) Trieu, Alison Langston and Christopher Powers and 11 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, a son, Joseph F. Langston, two brothers, Herschel Welch and Bobby Joe Welch and a sister Bernice Langston.
Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, 4210 W. Palmetto Street, Florence is assisting the family with arrangements.
