OLD TOWN - Loretta Adams, 75, passed suddenly July 22, 2005, with her beloved family at her side. Loretta was born April 7, 1930, in Stoneham, Mass., daughter of the late Hiram C. Lee and Lillian I. Lettney. She spent her childhood and young adult years in between Massachusetts and Maine. She settled in Houlton to raise her family. After raising her family, she worked as a certified nurse's assistant. She was a member of Rebekah's of Odd Fellows, a Post Noble Grand, and American Legion, Aux. Loretta was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She took great pleasure and pride in their happiness. Loretta was a woman of tremendous spirit, determination and had a generous heart. She enjoyed her crafts, sewing, cooking, playing bingo with numerous friends, and spending time with those she loved.

Loretta will be sadly missed leaving behind to cherish her memory, her children, Philomena Lee and her husband, Paul, of Enfield, Jeffrey Adams and his companion, Johanne Blaisdell of Palmyra; five grandchildren, Chris McKay of Hermon, Cathy Paradis of Old Town, Jacob Adams of Enfield, Luke Codrey of Portland, and Hazel Farrar of Exeter; two great-grandchildren, Dillon and Sydni Shorey of Old Town; her best friend, Robert Rancourt of Palmyra; two brothers, Emery Lee of Saucier, Miss., and Robert Lee of Lilmot Flat, N.H.; three sisters, Grace Cichetto of Rochester, N.H., Mary Suitter of Houlton, and Eleanor Schools of Houlton.
Loretta was predeceased by a daughter, Josephine Codrey; and a son, Fredrick Scarbo.
She will be laid to rest with a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005, at the Littleton Cemetery. (Bangor Daily News 7/27/2005)
