Theodore Stueben, 71, of Traer, died Wednesday morning in University hospitals in Iowa City. He had been ill for many months of a heart ailment and had spent several months in the Henkle Convalescent Home in Traer for care. His condition became critical on Tuesday, and he was taken by ambulance that afternoon to Iowa City. Funeral services are to be held at the States Funeral Home at 2 o'clock this Friday afternoon, and interment will be in West Union cemetery.
Mr. Stueben, a son of Fritz and Katie Theil Stueben, was born March 16, 1886 in Tama county. Most of his life was spent in the Traer community. He was a farm¬er several years and for many years had been a laborer in town. Mr. Stueben was married March 3, 1909 to Agnes Uridil, and five children were born to them. His first marriage ended in divorce in 1935. On January 2, 1937, he married Mrs. Inez McNeal of Traer who survives him. The children of the first marriage are son Rene of Cedar Falls and four daughters: Mrs. Harry (Mae) McKinney of Traer; Mrs. Floyd Wiseman, Waterloo; Mrs. Blanche Clarke, Hudson; and Mrs. Irene Prator, of Bakersfield, California. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ed Witt, of Reinbeck, and Mrs. O. W. Arter, of Hudson. Four sisters and one brother, William, preceded him in death.
