Phyllis Agnes Stueben

Phyllis Agnes, six-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Stueben, of Traer, died at 7:30 Wednesday evening in the University hospital at Iowa City. She was taken to Iowa City last Saturday for an operation for what was presumed to be appendicitis, but the operation a t 10 o’clock that night revealed her condition as due to peritonitis, and no hope was held for her recovery. On Wednesday of this week pneumonia developed, hastening the end.

The little girl was born July 4, 1925 and had she lived she would have been enrolled in second grade in the Traer school this fall. Her death is a crushing blow to the parents and is mourned by her numerous relatives and playmates. Mr. and Mrs. Stueben have five other children, four girls and one boy, four of whom are older than Phyllis. They are Wilma, wife of Floyd Wiseman Rean, Blanche, Irene, and Dorothy Mae.

The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Stueben home, in charge of the Rev. H. W. Singer of the Methodist church. Burial will be at Buckingham cemetery. Four cousins will act as Pallbearers - Fred Uridil, Kenneth Stueben, Fred Witt, and Vern Witt.
