Margaret Elvira Baker, born March 18, 1917, was a fighter, her Dad nicknamed, "all fire, hell fire and spit fire". Margaret's childhood was filled with work, school, church, play, love, family, and pets. In Kansas as a child, she helped with the farm. When the family home burned, the neighbors built them a new home. At age 15, at church, she met a guy named Roy (Red) and married him at 16 in a country church. They moved between Kansas, Washington, Idaho and Oregon.

In 1948, they moved to Yelm which became their permanent home. Margaret worked beside her kids picking beans and berries. She babysat for many years, and was proud of her family daycare. Margaret & Roy, liked to hunt, fish, play pinochle, penny anti poker, camp and go to the beach.

Her loves were family, babies, children, bingo, Billy Graham, tea, dancing, family pets, CNN, her son's visits, Red Wind Casino, Mariners, Gonzaga basketball, reading, Clinton and arguing politics. Margaret was opinionated, funny, caring and loving! She fought like a tiger for her family. In later years, after Roy passed away, Margaret really enjoyed traveling with family.

An excerpt from Margaret's writings "As I look back on my yesterdays, I hope and wish you all the best and many happy years ahead. I still get tears and smiles when I look back at picture albums, and I know dad would feel the same. If the Big Book is right, we will all be together again in one of our tomorrows."
