Son of Levi Leffel and Sarah C. Russell. Halleck was listed as single and was thought to be about 75 years old at the time of his death, but an actual age is unknown. He was in the Shelby County Infirmary at the time of his death.

A lad named Halleck Leffel, while riding on a hand car near town on Sunday, accidentally fell off the car, breaking his right leg. He was conveyed on a stretcher to his home and cared for.

LOCAL.
—Halleck Leffel, son of Levi Leffel of Marion county, who has been wondering about in this county for some time, was by order of the court sent to the St. Joe insane asylum last Monday, Sheriff Martin taking him there. Mr. Leffel is about 25 years old and he was sure enough crazy.

—It was reported last week that Halleck Leffel,, who was sent to the St. Joe insane asylum last July, was dead, but D. W. Graham received a letter Monday from the authorities at the asylum and the letter stated Mr. Leffel was in good health. His grandfather John C. Leffel, who is about 87 years old and lives near Shelbina, is also of unsound mind.
