George was born September 9, 1912. First son of Paul Frank & Lillian Pearl Griner. He has a younger brother Paul Oliver.

His father was a twist maker at Liggett & Meyer Tobacco Company. His mother worked at Musselman's Apple "Place".

He married Hazel Virginia Cremeens, to this marriage was born a son Robert R. They were divorced.

He married Lorna Theresa Ellington on August 23, 1941 at St. James E & R Church, St. Louis. Witnesses at the wedding were Charles Heinemann, Lorraine Bickel and Earl Ploch. To this marriage was born Georgia Lorrain Griner. They were divorced.

He then married Dorothy Hilda Edna Weisa. She had a daughter by a previous marriage, Ruth Wunderle. They were married 51 years.

Jobs he had were Mallincrodt Chemical Company and Schleters. Retired from Fisher Body a division of Chevrolet now General Motors. Later in life he became a night watchman on produce row in St. Louis.

George died May 12, 2003 at age 90 at his son Bob's home and is buried at Laurel Hills Cemetery, Garden of Nativity, Lot 108B. He's next to Dorothy his wife who preceded him in 1995.
