In 1918 she was united in marriage to Gilbert M. Anderson of Hazel Run, Minnesota. To this union five children were born, namely: Leon, Arley, Marvin, Erling and Ordean. Through this marriage, she also became mother to Erva, Lela, Orville, Eunice and Vernice.
Preceding her in death were her husband Gilbert M. Anderson, who passed away in 1951; four children: Erva (Mrs. Herman Tongen) passed away in 1936, Odean passed away in 1941, Leon was fatally injured while serving with the U.S. Army in France in 1944, and Lela (Mrs. Eugene Larson) passed away in 1960.
She was a member of the Hazel Run congregation and served in many capacities, namely, a life member of the ALCW, historian for the Lac qui Parle WMF, a Sunday School teacher for many years, and a member of the WCTU.
Tillie passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital Friday morning, July 23, 1971, at the age of 86 years.
She leaves to mourn her death the children: Orville of Dawson, Minnesota, Eunice and Vernice (Mrs. Harold Dahl) of Minneapolis, Arley of Greely, Colorado, Marvin of Hazel Run, and Erling of Clarkfield; one son-in-law, Eugene Larson of Watson, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; and one great grandchild, besides nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Along with her four children she was preceded in death by all her family members, her six sisters and four brothers: Lewis, Andrew, Severt and one brother in infancy, Josie Engevik, Emma Iverson, Carrie, Susie, Jeanette Bue and Annie Smolley.
