Carl Francis Boecker was the son of Henry Joseph and Thresia/Teresa Dettmer Boecker. He married Aileen Anderson, daughter of Earl and June Mathews Anderson, on December 16, 1940. They are the parents to six children.

Carl Francis "Shorty" Boecker, 81, of Danville, died Friday, March 9, 2001, at Morning Sun Care Center, Morning Sun.
Born Jan. 14, 1920, in Burlington, he was the son of Henry Joseph and Thresia Dettmer Boecker. He married Aileen E. Anderson on Dec.16, 1940, in Burlington. She died Aug 2, 1992.
Mr. Boecker was a farmer. He retired in 1982 as a carpenter at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.
He was a member of Harmony Bible Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, havig coffee in Danville with friends and being with his family.
Survivors include three sons, Randall Boecker of New London; Kenneth Boecker of Danville; and Leonard Boecker of Burlington; three daughters, Judy Darnell and LeAnn Luttenegger, both of Burlington, and Donna Weyrick of Danville; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; one brother, Ernest Boecker of Danville; and three sisters, Mary Harris of Palmyra, Mo., Louise Martin of Morning Sun; and Edith Haller of Nicholasville, Ky.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and six brothers.
Visitation will begin at noon Sunday at Elliot chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Boecker will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Harmony Bible Church with Pastor Leonard Schantz officiating. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery in Danville.
Memorials have been established for his church and Danville Rescue Unit.
