Graveside services for James William McCullars, 70, of Bullard, will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. McCullars passed away on Oct. 22, 2010, in Tyler.

He was born on Jan. 28, 1940, in Tyler to John and Cleo Hall McCullars. He was a lifelong resident of Tyler and a Baptist. Mr. McCullars owned and operated Tyler Sheet Metal Works and was the third generation of the business. He loved the outdoors, and his hobbies were hunting and fishing. He was a member of the NRA and the Cowboy Action Shooters SAS, and especially enjoyed precision bench shooting and working in his reloading room. He loved his family and greatly enjoyed time spent with them.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McCullars was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Crouch McCullars; sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Rob Roy Flynt; and brother-in-law, Guy Curry. He is survived by a loving family including his wife of 21 years, Sue Ann Rucker McCullars of Bullard; two daughters, Patricia Anne McCullars Worrell and husband Jeffery of Jacksonville and Melanie Ann Weaver and husband Colt of Whitehouse; two sons, James "Jimbo" William McCullars Jr. and wife Amy, and Ronnie Malone, all of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Becky Gallimore, Kristin McCullars, Masen Warren, Mallory Weaver, James Worrell; one great-grandchild, Madelynn Gallimore; two sisters, Mary Ann Curry and Jonnie Fae Conine and brother-in-law Jim, all of Tyler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of James William McCullars may be made to the American Heart Association , 1125 Judson Road, Suite 150, Longview, 75601; or the National Kidney Foundation , 5429 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, 75240.
