Fred H. Baer,
62, Topeka, died Sunday in a Topeka rest home. He had diabetes and arteriosclerosis and had been ill several years.

He was born Nov. 6, 1909 in Riley County and lived in Topeka about 30years. He was employed by the State of Kansas before he retired about 3 years ago.

He was married to the former Margaret Freeland at Riley. She survives.

Other survivors include 4 sons, Eugene Baer, Topeka, James Baer, Wilmington, NC, and Larry Baer and Robert Baer, both of the home; 4 daughters, Mrs. Donna Anderson and Mrs. Audrey Erdman, both of Topeka, Mrs. Joan Slechta, Hays, and Mrs. Maureen Cerken, Calif.; a brother, Leonard Baer, Monroe, Wash.' 3 sisters, Mrs. Lena Hassebroek and Mrs. Kate Pierce, both of Manhattan, and Mrs. Mary Crosby, Redmond, Wash.; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
