John M. Kingsley, 90, of Big Bend area of Emlenton, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Thursday morning, June 12, 2003, at Trinity Living Center in Grove City, Pa., after an illness. Born in Scrubgrass township, Venango Co., Pa., on July 15, 1912, he was the son of William W. and Clara Morrison Kingsley. Mr. Kingsley retired after thirty-five plus years of service as a fireman-boilerman with Quaker State Refining Company in Emlenton. He also owned and operated a farm in the Big Bend area most of his adult life. Mr. Kingsley was a member of the Big Bend United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife: Grace Palm Kingsley whom he married on March 16, 1936; two daughters: Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Crawford of Los Vegas, NV, and Mrs. Lou (Judy) Caldwell of Antioch, TN; four sons: Gary Kingsley of Emlenton, James (Jim) of Oil City, Jeffrey of Clintonville, and Gregory of Volant; one sister: Eleanor McGlaughlin of Grove City, PA; 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild and four sisters. Friends were called at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Main St., Eau Claire. Funeral Services were held in the Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Gomola, a family friend, officiating. Burial was in the Big Bend Cemetery.
