Alonzo Hammer, 69 of 1454 E.Decatur street, retired Wabash boilermaker,died in the Macon county sanatorium today. He had been in the hospital since August.
He was born March 26,1880 in Kinmundy, a son of Leslie and Matilda Hammer and was married to Matilda Lansford. She died 18 years ago. He was a member of the Christian church and the Brotherhood of Wabash trainmen.
He leaves the following children,Ellis, Kinmundy, Walter,Wesley, Nelson and Mrs.Geraldine Fyke,all of Decatur. also surviving are the following brothers and a sister, Forrest,Sioux City, Iowa, Dolph,Kinmundy, John,Fred and William, all of Decatur, Mrs.Bessie Jacobson,Mt. Vernon.
The body is at the Morans funeral home where friends may call after 7 pm. today
