Poughkeepsie N. Y., September 5

Funeral services for the late Rufus A.

Seeley were held at tho Vassar Brothers

Heme for Old Men, yesterday afternoon,

by the local G. A. R Post, of

which he was a member. Interment

was in the Rural Cemetery Mr. Seeley

died at tho Vassar Home last

Wednesday, rollowing a visit to Brooklyn,

where he met his wife and children.

He was the second of thirteen

children. He enlisted In Company A,

150th Regiment, New York, in 1863, but

was discharged the next year for disability.

Later he conducted a photographlc

studio in this city.

Besides his widow, two sons—John

Seeley of Poughkeepsie, and Lincoln

Seeley of Brooklyn, survive, as does a

daughter, Mrs. Edward Pelham, also

of Brooklyn. Mr. Seeley was an author,

having written a "Tribute to the

Memory of Abraham Lincoln," "An

Apostrophe to the Stars and Stripes"

and other articles of merit.
