Mrs. Nettie Ewer, 73, resident of Colorado since 1909 and of Canon City for 19 years, died at Canon City hospital Saturday afternoon. She was born in Elgin (or Winona), IL Oct. 29, 1860. When only about two years old she moved with her family to Iowa, and later to Kansas. There she married Amos Ewer in 1880 and the couple moved to Nebraska where they lived a number of years. They returned to Kansas where they resided about a years. In 1900 the Ewer family came by covered wagon to eastern Colorado. They lived in that section for ten years and then moved to Penrose where they resided for 14 years, then moved to Canon City in 1924. Mr. Ewer died nine years ago. Mrs. Ewer had many friends both in Canon City section and in Penrose and eastern Fremont County. Surviving her are five daughters, Mrs. Elce Harris of Emmett, Idaho; Mrs. Bessie Spitzer of Canon City; Mrs. Ethel Adair and Mrs. Alice Adair of Emmett, Idaho and Mrs. Lucy Tiedje of Tucson, Arizona.
