Anna Ruth Chambers Sexton, 64, passed away May 4, 2004, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida. Born in Oneida, February 11, 1940, she was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lucille Laxton Chambers; her first husband, Norman Ray Phillips; one infant brother, one infant sister; and one brother-in-law, James Coffey.

She was a member of White Rock Baptist Church; and was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by three daughters: Traci Byrd and husband, Gordon, of Helenwood; Melissa Trammell and Brandi Sexton, both of Oneida; four grandchildren, two brothers: Harold Chambers and wife, Mary, and Larry (Butch) Chambers and wife, Dorla, all of Oneida; seven sisters: Betty Crabtree and Phyllis Coffey, both of Huntsville; Jean Bridges and husband, Amos, of Atlanta, Ga.; Christine Bridges and husband, Leslie, of Bronston, Ky.; Frankie Lay and husband, Bob, of Knoxville; Retha Laxton and husband, Otis, of Oneida; and Sandra Storey of Helenwood; special friend, Verna Dean Boyatt; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Burial in Carson Memorial Cemetery in Oneida. Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville was in charge of arrangements.
