Married on June 6, 1848 in Perryville, Perry, Mo Caroline Mattingly of Kentucky.
Family records place his burial at St. Bernard's Cemetery with his wife and father Peter Sr.
A headstone may no longer exist. Peter Jr. died a few years before his father, perhaps just as the cemetery was being established.
Apparently there are also many broken or missing headstones at this cemetery. Peter Gieber Sr.'s headstone presently shows that it was once broken off of its base (marble in front of restored headstone with cement base) and broken again in half.
